Our Team
“Flowers just happen to be the medium my life path has chosen.”
Tali Bouskila
Founder
Tali’s values are based on a belief that supporting local farms is imperative to the health of our community and the ecology of the planet. Choosing Petaluma as the home of Flower Casita felt natural, growing up in the area and viewing the entire North Bay as home. Her relationships with local farms up and down the 101 corridor and the multitude of different climates found in the region make farm to table and seasonal sourcing easy to achieve. Tali believes that being an artist is not only about the creation of art, but a way of observing and living in this world.
“We are truly creating magic in the shop”
Anna Chapman
Shop manager- steward and curator
Anna grew up in West Marin, in a sweet cottage style house on a half-acre which was mostly garden space. She spent a lot of time with her mom when she was working in the garden and fell in love with plants and flowers at a young age because it meant time spent together.
Anna started gardening work right out of high school and then tried her hand at farming, working for Marin Roots farm in Petaluma. But she was still drawn to the beauty of flowers and design and worked as a freelancer with a wedding florist for many years before finding Flower Casita.
She is so happy to have found her way to Flower Casita and loves Sonoma County for the sheer abundance and bounty always at our fingertips. Locally grown flowers and produce inspire Anna as she creates arrangements in the shop. Being able to use local blooms, herbs and even fruit brings her great joy.
“Whatever just got delivered from the local farm down the street— that’s my favorite.”
Tasha Todt
Visual Marketing
Tasha’s life has never not been about plants. Growing up in an old chicken barn in west Petaluma, nasturtium vines grew through the walls, flowering right in her bedroom. Growing up on ten acres, the family always tended large gardens of fruit, veggies, and flowers.
Tasha later grew into a career in floristry as she pursued botany in school, farmed flowers on the side, and eventually started her own medicinal herb farm, Meadowland Herbs, in Petaluma. Her creative pursuits extend to garment making, sewing and knitting.
After earning a degree in ecology from UC Berkeley, Tasha worked many field jobs as a botanist across various post-fire landscapes in Northern California. She considers Sonoma County a magical place, and one of her favorite things about Petaluma is when you can feel the foggy maritime influence roll in from the west, even on the hottest of summer evenings.
